MOM’S House touches hearts with God’s loving grace.

History

Mom’s House was established in Johnstown in 1983 to offer young women faced with unplanned pregnancies a realistic alternative to the despair of abortion and the tragedy of welfare.  Peg Luksik designed and started the Mom’s House program to give single parents the greatest chance of success.  She felt that these parents should be urged to continue their education past high school to a level where they are fully employable.

Mom’s House opened in Phoenixville in 1987, and is now one of thirteen in the corporate system throughout Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, Florida and Ohio.  A local volunteer Board of Directors governs each subsidiary.  The subsidiaries are autonomous in managing their programs, within the umbrella of the Bylaws and Operations Manual provided by Mom’s House, Inc., Parent Corporation.

Our Creed

God's love is the foundation of Mom's House.
Seeds of love grow into irresistible forces.
Every person born and pre-born has an equal right to be treated with respect and dignity and love.

Every mother, regardless of her past, deserves to be loved for who she is and can become.
Every mother, regardless of her situation, deserves the opportunity to complete her education.
A choice for life should not be a choice for poverty.

Every child is a unique expression of God's love.
Every child has the right to be surrounded by love and acceptance.
